The gift nobody asked for but everyone was thrilled to receive on social media Saturday was a tasteful, completely nude Instagram photo of Halle Berry chilling on her balcony with a glass of wine. The image was accompanied by the caption, "i do what i wanna do. π happy Saturday."
In that moment, all was right with the world. But, as Cassius notes, if the internet is good at anything, it's taking something that is almost objectively Great For Everyone and trying to s**t all over it. A few trolls accused Berry of trying to get attention as she gets older. But no one got more juice out of hating than @ShadayaKnight, a podcaster and someone who is somehow affiliated with the rabbit-meat market, who took it upon themself to determine that women above the age of 50 aren't allowed to be proud of their bodies. They posted, "Imagine being in your 50s, still posting nudes for attention in menopause when you should be chilling with the grandkids. Aging with dignity is no longer a thing."

Sigh. One would think red pills are the hardest to swallow, but here we are.
Apparently, hating is very popular on Twitter: The slam got nearly 20 million impressions before Berry brought more attention to it by replying. The actress didn't waste time posting a response, cleverly replying Sunday, "Did you guys know the heart of a shrimp is located in its head?"
We're gonna be thinking on that one for a while, but not too long, because also on Sunday, Berry posted a magazine-quality beach pic with another glass of wine with the caption, "Keeping my spirits up β¨."
