Richard Lawson Now a Social Media Cautionary Tale

After Tina Lawson filed for divorce from the actor, Twitter sleuths snooped around and found some questionable likes.

You'd be forgiven for not knowing who Richard Lawson is, or even confusing him with the Vanity Film film critic who has the same name. But Twitter (or X, or whatever) is certainly up in his business all of a sudden upon two big things that happened this week.

The first is that the woman he's married to (for now) Tina Knowles, who happens to be the mom of the world's biggest pop star, filed for divorce from the actor and producer, who had appeared in shows like Dynasty and The Cosby Show in the '80s. She cited irreconcilable differences and said they'd separated as of July 25. They've been married since 2015.

Now, before the world even had time to speculate on what could have caused the breakup, Twitter sleuths were on the case, apparently discovering that Lawson's Twitter account (X account?) had liked some porn-related posts.

Some pointed out that Likes on the platform are not private. Anybody can see what you've liked and if you've liked some freaky stuff and you are a semi-celebrity, you can expect to be exposed when you're in the news like this. But seriously: watch your Likes, don't assume nobody cares.

One verified account belonging to rapper Riley Writts took the enterprising step of video screencapping those likes or at least reposting a screen capture (and it is absolutely NSFW, use caution!) before Lawson's account was deleted entirely, presumably by Lawson or someone close to the porn aficionado.

Wow! Guess this is one of those situations where those involved may have to just make lemonade out of a really, really bad situation.
