Ready to Hear T-Pain Cover Frank Sinatra?

On Top of the Covers is set to release on March 17

T-Pain, the man who forever altered the course of pop music, has a fun new project on the way. The “rappa ternt sanga” will release, On Top of the Covers on March 17, a project full of cover songs. Fans of T-Pain have been clamoring over his cover renditions for years and he showcased his deft ability to make somebody else’s song his own in 2019 when he was crowned the winner of The Masked Singer’s first season.

On Top of the Covers will feature T-Pain singing without autotune — which probably makes Hov really happy. The seven-track project will span multiple genres from old Chitlin’ Circuit era soul to country to contemporary pop to early metal. In a press release, T-Pain said he started recording the EP after he won The Masked Singer. “It got put on hold for a bit but now that I'm independent, I'm able to do whatever I want to do through Nappy Boy Entertainment and this is something I've felt strongly about for a long time."

In support of On Top of the Covers, T-Pain will perform two shows in Los Angeles. Who knows, if all goes well with those shows, he might come to a city near you with Sam Smith in tow..

The On Top of the Covers tracklist with the original song’s artist is below.

1 “A Change Is Gonna Come” (Sam Cooke)

2 “Don’t Stop Believin'” (Journey)
